Siddharth Amin is the founder and managing partner of Cavendish Capital Partners LLP. He has over 35 years of experience in investment banking and securities, specializing in equities, equity derivatives, convertible bonds, risk management, and currently in mining and metals transactions and businesses. Prior to establishing Cavendish Capital Partners in 2006, Siddharth held various senior positions during a 10-year tenure at HSBC in London. His roles included managing a USD 500 million convertible bond arbitrage book and later being appointed Director and Head of Structuring, Equity-Linked Capital Markets. In this latter role, Siddharth advised companies globally on equity-linked financings totalling approximately USD 4.5 billion across Europe, Asia, and the US, gaining significant exposure to emerging markets, including India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Among his notable achievements, Siddharth secured a USD 400 million convertible bond mandate from Ivanhoe Mining, the discoverer and owner of the Oyu Tolgoi mine in Mongolia, one of the largest known copper and gold deposits in the world. The mine, now 66% owned by Rio Tinto, is expected to produce 430,000 tonnes of copper per year at full capacity, accounting for about 3% of global production, alongside 425,000 ounces of gold annually. Siddharth currently provides advisory services to metals and mining companies, focusing on upstream assets, physical trading, structuring, analysis, and risk management. Siddharth holds an MA in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics from the University of Cambridge (St John’s College) and is a qualified Chartered Accountant (KPMG).
